North Jersey indoor playgrounds: prices & open play
Compare three indoor playgrounds in Essex and Morris counties, plus reserved playspace, classes and library alternatives. Choose by day, age guidance, admission price and booking before leaving.
Morning plan: 9am open play, daily: check closures
The official open-play page lists 9am-6pm daily with no reservation required. Child plus one adult is $25; other age/adult rates are listed on the site. A two-hour limit may apply on weekends and holidays. Check current closure notices before travelling; private parties can change public access.

Ages & play
The operator describes toddler-through-age-8 play and soft-play, imaginative-play and movement activities. Ask which areas fit your child; this is operator guidance, not an independent suitability assessment.
Booking & time limits
No reservation required on the open-play page. A two-hour limit may apply on weekends and holidays; confirm before leaving.
Practical details
Bathroom, changing-table, stroller-storage and parking arrangements are not established by this reviewed page.
Start with the three open-play venues. Check the exact day, whether you need a slot, the adult admission allowance and any time limit. An open building does not guarantee space for your visit.
For toddlers or mixed ages
Admission age bands describe prices, not which equipment suits your child. Ask the venue about separation from bigger children and adult supervision; do not assume that every playground has a quiet toddler area.
For a class or a quieter alternative
Kidville playspace has reserved sessions; IMC Littles and The Little Gym are booked classes. Libraries offer books or dated programs, not indoor playground equipment. Use the activity filters to keep these choices separate.
How we chose these outings
This comparison covers researched options in Essex and Morris counties, not all of North Jersey. Open-play spaces, registered classes and library visits offer different experiences; the labels below keep them separate.

Questions before you go
Which North Jersey indoor playgrounds open at 9am?
Exceptional Explorers in Livingston and Huckleberry Play in Morris Plains list 9am open play daily. FunVille in Belleville starts at 9am Tuesday–Sunday, but at 3pm on Monday. These are posted regular schedules, not a check of today’s booking availability or private-event closures.
How much does indoor playground open play cost?
The reviewed pages list one child at $24.95 at Exceptional Explorers, with adults free; $25 for a child plus one adult at Huckleberry Play; and $22 for a first child ages 1–13 with up to two adults at FunVille. Infant, sibling and extra-adult rates differ. Check the linked operator pages before paying.
Is there indoor play in North Jersey before 9am?
None of the three early open-play venues in this comparison publishes a start before 9am. A gym’s building hours do not establish toddler play availability. For another indoor option, use the library planner to compare actual branch opening times.
Do I need to reserve indoor play?
Exceptional Explorers asks visitors to book or call ahead, and Kidville requires advance signup. Huckleberry Play and FunVille list walk-in access; check private-party closures. Little Gym and IMC Littles classes require a dated booking.
Are these all toddler play spaces?
No. The open-play venues offer play activities; a gym class depends on age and registration. Libraries are alternatives for books or dated children’s programs. Check the activity’s age guidance rather than treating a ticket age band as suitability advice.
Is Little Brain Lab in South Orange open?
The operator says its South Orange location is currently closed and is not accepting bookings. No reopening date is announced. It is excluded from this comparison; check the South Orange town guide for the closure source.
